July 17, 2009 ~ Just before 1700 hours West Metro Fire Dispatch alerted units to a reported structure fire at 9187 West Philips Drive.  Multiple callers began reporting the fire as well as burned victims, prompting dispatch to upgrade to a confirmed fire response.  First arriving District Chief 3 found a two story multi family row with heavy fire conditions from floor 2 of a middle unit.  A 7 year old child was found in the front yard with 2nd & 3rd degree burns over most of his body, an adult female patient was also found outside with burns to the arms and face.  Two attack lines were placed into operation, two supply lines were laid and crews laddered the roof.  Both patients were rapidly transported by West Metro Paramedic / Firefighters.  All searches proved negative and the fire was held to the unit of origin.  Eric Hurst Photos
