July 23, 2009 ~ At 0952 hours Douglas County Dispatch alerted Castle Rock Q155 & E151 to a reported vehicle fire at 4175 Trail Boss Drive. As units went enroute a smoke plume was widely visible for several miles. Additional callers reported the involved vehicle had rolled into a structure prompting a full response. First due Quint 155 arrived at Metzler Ranch Park and reported a vehicle fire with extension into the structure, explosions and a golf cart on fire in the parking lot; an immediate 2nd Alarm was transmitted. Companies battled the vehicle fire, working attic fire and treated a minor burn patient on scene. The fire was quickly knocked and brought under control within 20 minutes. Only one Engine & Medic on the 2nd Alarm were held. The vehicle initially caught fire in the parking lot after a fueling accident.
