SWAC First Due On Well Involved Home

12/7 ~ Just before 1400 hours, South West Adams County Fire was alerted to a confirmed structure fire at 6521 Clay Street. Units reported heavy smoke in the air while enroute, and arrived to find a mobile home well off with people reported trapped. The fire was quickly knocked, all searches proved negative for any trapped parties and no extension to neighboring homes occurred. Firefighters found several pets inside, 2 dogs and 3 cats. Sadly the dogs were overcome by fire conditions. All 3 cats survived the blaze and were turned over to animal control. Firefighters stayed on scene for overhaul and to courteously secure all utilities, board up and secure the structures exposed sides and windows. North Washington supplied mutual aid and covered SWACs district. Mike Melton Photos
