August 18, 2009 ~ At 1400 hours Littleton Firefighters were called to the 8100 block of South Filmore Way for a reported structure fire.  First due Engine 15 arrived to find a three story multiple dwelling with blackened windows and light smoke from the 2nd & 3rd floor windows.  The crews forced entry and advanced a line inside.  A small kitchen fire was quickly located and knocked down, all searches proved negative for humans.  Sadly, two family pets were found deceased inside the home.  No extension to neighboring units was found, ventilation took place and companies began clearing within 30 minutes.  Eric Hurst Photos
