2nd Alarm Peoria Market Fire April 29, 2009 ~ Just before 2200 Aurora Fire received multiple reports of a structure fire in the area of 17th & Peoria.  Battalion 1 arrived at 1695 Peoria Street to find heavy smoke conditions from the single story Peoria Market.  First due companies laid several lines, opened up and advanced an attack line inside.  After several minutes of fire attack, conditions began deteriorating and the operational mode was changed to defensive.  A 2nd Alarm was pulled, several 2 1/2's were used and the fire was brought under control within the hour.  To view the full gallery click here  Mike Melton Photos
