May 16th, 2009 ~ Just after 1800 hours Denver Firefighters were called to a reported structure fire at 1600 West Dakota Avenue. First due Engine & Tower 23 arrived to find a one story duplex with heavy smoke and fire conditions. E23 laid in and advanced a line to the rear unit which was well involved. Several companies worked for 10-15 minutes to declare the fire under control. All searches proved negative and extensive overhaul took place. The neighboring unit sustained minor damage.
