August 9, 2009 ~ Denver Fire was kept busy for a couple hours in the early evening. The first incident was a reported structure fire at 43rd & Inca with units reporting smoke in air. First due crews found a large pile of cardboard material on fire, extending to the building and a power pole. The fire was quickly knocked down and the building checked clear of any fire conditions but did have to be ventilated. Two lines were used for extensive overhaul and a tractor was called to assist in pulling appart the pile. The second incident occurred only a few mintues after the first at 3050 West Arizona. Crews arrived there to find a vehicle into a house with structural damage and 4 patients, one of which had fled the scene. Initial firefighters remained on scene until the arrival of the Tech Rescue Team who had previously been committed at 43rd & Inca. An evaluation of the structure was completed and the scene was turned over to Denver Police for investigation. Eric Hurst Photos
