September 25, 2009 ~ At 1630 North Metro Fire Rescue was alerted to a rollover accident at 142nd and I-25 Just behind Costco.  Units arrived to find two cars, one with heavy damage and a party trapped in a vehicle against a steel rail.  North metro command requested the assistance of Thornton Engine 75.  Quick thinking employees of the Costco and a nearby service station assisted in scene safety by supplying extra fire extinguishers and coning off the area.  Firefighters decided to use the Costco parking lot rather than the busy highway for loading the patient into a waiting medic unit.  If it weren’t for the steel rail the rolled over car would likely have fallen about 8 more feet into the Costco parking lot.   State Patrol remained on scene for the investigation.  Mike Melton Photos
